Spring is coming soon and with it the promise of green growing things and pretty flowers. These pictures are from last spring. I can barely wait for rainy spring and long summer days.

Magnolia tree in full bloom at Hobson grove House at Riverview.

The green ivy has survived the winter in our balcony planters.

I'm excited to get some geraniums planted in the pots like we had.

These trees bloom near our apartment and are so beautiful.

This picture was taken at the Kentucky Museum last spring.

Project DIY Paint Fabric Cushions

This was a fun project on a nursery rocker. It was a boring brown color and it transformed it into a nice color I was well pleased.

Martha Stewart paint medium
Flat paint Cherries Jubilee
2 inch brush
Water mister
Sandpaper

Mix one part Martha Stewart paint medium to two parts paint.

Lightly mist clean fabric with water.

Lightly brush on paint.

Let dry completely.

Sand painted and dried fabric which will soften it.

Apply a light second coat as needed.

This is before.

This is after. (Beside it you can see a blue couch that I also painted.)

This is my paint selection.

This is the paint medium.

An empty wide mouth mayo container works well for mixing.

After the first coat.

My father in laws brilliant creation for drying them. Hammer a nail into each corner of an empty crate for streak free drying on all sides.

A small white moth flitted among the tiny white flowers in the grasses glowing in the late afternoon sun.  I pointed it out to my young daughter and wished for a camera to capture its beauty. I wondered what she thought about seeing a little white moth for the first time. We passed a tree with broad leaves and I let her hold a leaf. She clutched it in her tiny fist, long fingers wrapped around the slender stem all the way home.

A Dyslexic C + A Trip Saving Biner For Lazers

After the sudden deluge of rain the sun swept out in all its fresh washed glory and left some breath taking vistas in the sky. I want to lay down in that reclining C in the sky and watch the world go by.

See that blue clip in that hand attached to that disembodied arm? That is a life changer. It literally just saved me a trip up a flight of steps and down a long hallway. Do you want to know what I carried in that one trip?

Things I Carried in One Trip Using Blue Padded Carabiner:

24 lbs of chubby baby with one hand
1 big heavy diaper bag
1 gallon milk
1 dozen eggs
1 frozen pizza
a big bunch of bananas
5 cans of vegetables
5 boxes of Mac n Cheese
with the other hand.

Be impressed!

This one on Amazon is not the exact one I have which was a thoughtful gift, but is like the one I have. That black part you can see is foam padding so that it doesn't hurt your hand.

This is ideal for upper level apartment dwellers or lazy people who simply don't want to make more than one trip ever again.

Golden Bubble

Today the windows were opened to the first stirrings of fall. Wind gusted eagerly though the room searching for leaves to kick up. It only found me and a small child babbling happily and content in the ambience of the golden afternoon sun.

A New Year, A New Time

A time to clean out.

A time to get rid of all things dusty.

A time to usher in calm and quiet on the wings of a fresh post winter breeze.

Sparkling surfaces reflecting sunlight.

Little dust bunnies recoiling in terror as there furry bodies disintegrate into the roar of the vacuum.

Sparkling and spacious converge, prompting creativity and energy to emerge.

Who-whoo

Who's there?
Creamy hot chocolate that's who.
